Ramsay in place for Boro after Albion pick new coach
Birmingham Mail
|January 13, 2026
ALBION have moved quickly to announce the appointment of Eric Ramsay as their new head coach.
Ryan Mason was sacked earlier this month after a dismal run of ten away defeats in a row and James Morrison took temporary charge of the side for their penalty shootout win over Swansea in the FA Cup on Sunday.
But Ramsay, 34, from Shrewsbury, will be in the dugout for the visit of Middlesbrough on Friday night after leaving Minnesota United.
A club statement reads: "West Bromwich Albion are delighted to confirm the appointment of Eric Ramsay as men's first team head coach.
"The 34-year-old arrives from Major League Soccer side Minnesota United, where he achieved the club's highest points total and a fourth-place Western Conference finish in the 2025 season before reaching the conference semifinals of the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs.
