NEW RUBBISH AND RECYCLING CENTRE

THE construction of Walsall's 'state-of-the-art' super tip has been completed.
The £32 million Household Waste Recycling Centre and Waste Transfer Station on Middlemore Lane, Aldridge, will be open to the public in the coming months.
The huge 72 hectare project includes a recycling area with 19 bays and 38 skips, a new waste transfer facility and an upcycling shop.
It also has weighbridges, service yards, ventilation systems, and offices for staff.
The station has the capacity to process 40,000 tonnes of rubbish per year.
The site, built on the old McKechnie Brass works, will future-proof the borough's waste management system as new legislation is brought in.
