Davies couldn't resist a quip when asked for his reaction to plans to extend the Championship playoffs to include the teams that finish seventh and eighth from next season: “Could they make it this season?Eighth is only two points away from Birmingham City, but there is an eight-point gap to bridge to sixth-placed Wrexham that is much further away.
