'INHUMANE' LIVING CONDITIONS INCLUDED MOULD AND EXPOSED WIRES
BIRMINGHAM City Council has promised to fully refurbish a pensioner's home after his 'inhumane' living conditions were shamed.
The stark reality of life for widower John Marshall was shown through shocking photos and videos capturing mould, damp and exposed wires.
Walls and ceilings were shown to be badly damaged, and the whole Winson Green property was in a state of disrepair.
Mr Marshall, 67, told the Birmingham Mail he had been in contact with the council and social services over the years, but to no avail.
