Car park ‘confusion’ as hospital staff hit with £5 extra charge

BIRMINGHAM Children’s Hospital staff were left in ‘total confusion’ over new car park rules after ‘everyone’ was overcharged.

NHS employees say they were all charged an extra £5 for a day rate at the hospital’s closest car park, NCP’s Royal Angus site in the city centre.

Normally, staff pay £7.95 daily, but on a Saturday they were charged £12.95 and told this was “now the price’ sparking fears over rising costs.

Now, NCP has told the Mail that although the pricing structure has changed across some sites, Birmingham Children’s Hospital staff will “remain unaffected”.
