MUM WHO ‘DIDN'T RECOGNISE’ HERSELF AFTER PREGNANCY SHEDS ALMOST 3 STONES
A MUM has shared how a simple change helped her to lose almost three stone after the birth of her daughter.
After giving birth to Florence in 2021, Abby Kinley found herself putting on weight quickly which affected her confidence.
The 33-year-old found the early days of motherhood challenging and turned to convenience foods as she was overwhelmed.
The mum felt as though she had lost her identity as her body changed and she withdrew herself from the outside world.
Abby, who is from Wednesbury and now lives in Wombourne, said: “I found motherhood very challenging and isolating.
“T found I was eating convenience foods because I was feeling overwhelmed, which caused my weight to spiral quickly, especially once I stopped breastfeeding.
“T found myself withdrawing from friends who had known me before Florence was born, because I was so worried that they wouldn't recognise me with my weight gain.
“Yd completely lost my identity and I felt lost and unwell, mentally and physically. I didn’t recognise myself”
