Wera Hobhouse MP: I need your help to support vital service

As we head into the summer months, a time when many of us look forward to a break and enjoy longer, sunnier days, it's important to remember that for some in our city, summer brings heightened danger and uncertainty.
-
Research has shown that summer often coincides with increased rates of domestic abuse, and it's a trend that cannot be ignored.
Just last month, I visited VOICES, an exceptional charity that has been a lifeline for victims of domestic abuse in Bath for over a decade.
I had the privilege of speaking with survivors who shared their deeply moving stories. For many of them, VOICES was the difference between life and death. The impact of the specialist, trauma-informed support they provide is immeasurable. VOICES' wraparound services - including therapy, help with court processes, and long-term recovery programmes - have saved lives and given countless families the chance to rebuild their futures after the horrors of domestic abuse.
However, VOICES are grappling with the highest number of referrals they've ever seen, and the waiting list for their services is growing.
