The better weather on Sunday allowed Bath Wanderers to record a convincing win against Taunton Deane at North Parade in the Women's Premier Division of the West of England Premier League.

In just their second league fixture of the summer, Wanderers opted to field which proved a good decision as Sophie Gaiger struck with the first ball of the match. Although three batters made double figures, Taunton Deane continued to lose regular wickets and were eventually bowled out for an under-par 88 in the 34th over.

Pick of the bowlers were Katie Dolman (3-2) and Charlotte Phillips (2-4).

Although skipper Emma Godman went in the first over of Bath’s reply, Laila Moledina (28*) and Dolman (44) helped take the hosts to a rapid victory as they passed Taunton Deane’s total in the 13th over with only three wickets down.

The seven-wicket success ensured that Bath remain the only unbeaten side in the division, with a game in hand on the club above them.

With rain disrupting much of the action on Saturday across the region, Bath's senior side could only manage 13.1 overs at Bridgwater in Premier One of the West of England Premier League.

Invited to field, Bath lost Bradley Porteous and Will Hope for a combined seven, before opener Jack Scrivens (28*) and Sam Young (19*) steered the visitors to 57-2. Bridgwater earned seven points from the fixture and Bath six, to leave Bath fifth and 18 points off their leading hosts.

The second side managed nine overs at North Parade against Cleeve in their top of the table clash in the Senior Division of the Bristol & District League.

Unsurprisingly opting to field, Spencer Gammon managed to bowl Cleeve captain Sam Williams out for ten as the visitors reached a decent-looking 53-1. The six points for both sides leaves Bath 15 points clear of their rivals.

All of the games in Division One were cancelled without a ball being bowled, including Bath 3rd's trip to Timsbury. With it being as you were, Bath remain 12 points ahead of Lodway at the top.
