Sprinter Sophie Allison enjoyed a sparkling day for Team Bath AC in their second match of the UK Athletics Youth Development League (YDL) Lower Age match at Hereford.

In her first summer season with the club, Allison completed a fine double victory the U15 girls’ 100m and 200m, clocking personals bests of 13.1secs and 27.2secs respectively.

Her 200m time, in particular, was impressive as it carved half a second from her previous PB set when winning the Wiltshire title at Swindon at the start of the month.

For good measure, Allison then linked up with Matilda Muccilli, Amy Matthews and Alexandra Clowes to convincingly win the 4x100m relay in 53.7secs.

The U15 girls were certainly the stars of the show for the club at Hereford as Muccilli was runner-up in the 100m B string (PB of 13.6secs) with Matthews winning the 200m B in a big PB 27.7secs and then celebrating her debut over 300m with victory in 47.3secs.

Matthews, who is also enjoying her first summer with Team Bath, also recorded a PB of 13.3secs to win the non-scoring 100m so a terrific day for her too.
