Avis aiming to end on a high

Ash Avis’ summer is bubbling along pretty nicely as we enter the business-end of the season.
The 18-year-old Team Bath AC sprinter followed up his double gold at the South West Schools Champion-ships with a personal best and another medal at the Midland Counties Championships.
Competing in the U20s 100m, Avis first ran a PB of 10.64secs in the heats, improving his previous best of 10.68secs, and then matched that time exactly in the final, with a legal wind of +1.4w, to win the bronze medal.
“I didn’t run as fast as I would have liked but I cannot be too disappointed with a PB,” said Avis.
“It wasn’t a perfect race on Sunday for sure and I have a quicker time in my legs.
