Thailand’s labour market is rapidly shifting, with 90% of employers now seeking candidates with artificial intelligence (Al) skills and 93% requiring strong English communication, according to a survey by Mahidol University International College (MUIC).

MUIC also identified five high-growth career clusters set to dominate the next five years: digital-data-Al roles such as data analysts and automation specialists; cybersecurity and digital compliance positions; digital-driven tourism and service careers; holistic healthcare and wellness powered by AI; and green transformation jobs focused on sustainability.

Prof Chulathida Chomchai, the dean of MUIC, said the Annual Graduate Employer Survey 2025 compiled insights from 412 graduates as well as 63 leading employers and hiring managers from key industries, including government, state-owned enterprises and international organisations such as the UN, along with advisors for graduate studies overseas.

Employers in Thailand emphasise three core skills: global communication, AI and digital literacy, and workplace readiness and adaptability in a working environment.

The survey found 93% of employers specified proficiency in English and a second language as the most critical hiring skill, especially for organisations operating regionally and internationally.
