Mining operations allowed to continue
The long-running legal dispute between the Thai government and Australia-based Kingsgate Consolidated Limited over the Chatree gold mine in the lower northern part of Thailand has officially ended, with both sides settling, authorities confirmed yesterday.
The Chatree mine, Thailand's largest gold mine, spans Phichit and Phetchabun provinces and is operated by Akara Resources Plc, a Kingsgate subsidiary.
