Rollout of B20 electric train fare cap pushed back

The 20-baht capped fare for electric trains in Greater Bangkok is likely to be delayed from Oct 1 to the middle of November, according to Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungruangkit.
He yesterday admitted the probable delay in the passage of the three essential bills would mean the scheduled launch would need to be postponed.
The 20-baht capped fare isa flagship policy of the ruling Pheu Thai Party. It will be possible only after three bills become law. The three draft laws are the Rail Transport, Common Ticketing System Management, and Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand bills.
