Problem elephant caught, relocated for rehabilitation

Si Daw Kaew, a wild male elephant, has been successfully captured and relocated to reduce human-elephant conflict and improve safety for communities in Sa Kaeo province, according to the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation.

Sukhee Boonsang, director of the Wildlife Conservation Office, said yesterday the 30-35-year-old elephant was moved from Thung Maha Charoen subdistrict in Wang Nam Yen district to the Chong Klam Bon Wildlife Breeding Station for behavioural rehabilitation.
