ANWAR SALAE LEAVES PPRP

POLITICS: Anwar Salae, a former MP for Pattani, has announced his resignation from the Palang Pracharat Party (PPRP), saying his ideas were incompatible with the party’s direction.
Writing on Facebook, he said he joined the PPRP after consulting with constituents in Pattani. PPRP leader Gen Prawit Wongsuwon also agreed to scrap the emergency decree in the deep South, secure compensation for fishermen affected by the European Union’s yellow card and promote the halal industry, he said.
After working with the party for some time, he observed several weaknesses, including a poor communication strategy and weak economic and policy teams. His proposals to improve the party’s work were ignored, while MPs left the party due to a lack of clear directions.
Mr Anwar said he believed his views differed from the leadership to the extent that he could no longer work with the PPRP and decided to part ways.
