Kunlavut keeps run going with 3-game win in India

Kunlavut Vitidsarn continued his perfect start to the 2026 season by booking his berth in the second round of the US$950,000 (approx 30.4 million baht) India Open in New Delhi yesterday.

The Thai second seed, however, had to dig deep before overcoming Japanese opponent Koki Watanabe 21-19, 23-25, 21-10 in an hour and 10 minutes at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex.

World No.2 Kunlavut, who claimed his maiden Super 1000 title at the season-opening Malaysia Open on Sunday, will take on Lu Guangzu in the next round.

China's Lu defeated Justin Hoh of the United States 21-17, 21-15 yesterday.
