Kingdom players heartbroken in five-set Dutch epic
Bangkok Post

Thailand went down to the Netherlands in a five-set thriller as Pool A action of the 2025 FIVB Women's World Championship concluded on Tuesday night.
-
The Thais were unable to keep their record clean as they twice threw away the lead to lose 3-2 (23-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-10, 16-14) in front of the packed Indoor Stadium.
Both teams ended pool play with seven points, but the Dutch have three wins to the Thais' two.
Thailand will face the winners of the Pool H match between Serbia and Japan while the Netherlands will play the losers in the Round of 16 tomorrow (Friday).
Star opposite Pimpichaya Kokram led Thailand's attack with 20 points (18 kills, two blocks), while outside hitter Sasipapron Janthawisut had 14 points (13 kills, one ace).
"It was a high-level match," said outside hitter Chatchu-On Moksri. "I thought both teams played very well, and we fought until the end. We set a goal for our team of making it to the next round, and I'm happy that we accomplished it, but now we want to keep improving and go further."
"The players did their best but hats off to the Netherlands for winning the match. It was very close," said coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai.
