Developer’s sales rise despite hiking prices
International schools can help increase housing demand in nearby areas, attracting both parents and investment buyers seeking rental opportunities, according to residential developers.
Akkadet Udomsirithamrong, deputy chief executive of SET-listed Ornsirin Holding based in Chiang Mai, said housing demand at the company’s projects near its headquarters in Doi Saket district has risen since it began construction of an international school.
“We raised home prices three times since mid-2024, by 100,000-300,000 baht each time, yet sales remained strong following the start of the school’s construction in May 2025,” he said.
In addition, the company found owners of single detached houses priced at 3 million baht with three bedrooms and two bathrooms in one of its earlier projects near the school increased the rental rate.
