Govt 'has no plan to scrap uniforms'

There are no plans to abolish scout and girl scout uniforms in schools, according to Deputy Education Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul.
Mr Surasak said yesterday that the ministry is in the process of amending regulations to provide more scout uniform options, including both formal and casual styles.
Schools will be able to decide whether students should wear the traditional scout uniforms or casual ones. The temperature and parents’ readiness will be taken into account, he said.
