Foreigners linked to scams cuffed

Fourteen South Korean and three Chinese suspects linked to a major transnational call centre syndicate operated by South Koreans, who fled neighbouring countries to set up offices in Bangkok condominiums, have been arrested.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) yesterday took the group to a press conference, saying they had caused damages of more than 500 million baht to victims in South Korea.

Pol Lt Gen Natthasak Chaowanasai, CIB chief, said the suspects, living in areas around Rama III and Lumpini in Bangkok, aged 27 to 43, were charged with working illegally and overstaying their visas.
