Cops debunk 'fake news' on South Korean abductions

The Immigration Bureau has moved to correct reports by South Korean media that 11 of its nationals have been abducted here, saying seven have returned home and the other four never entered the kingdom in the first place.
Pol Maj Gen Cherngron Rimpadee, deputy commissioner and bureau spokesman, clarified the matter on Tuesday night, responding to reports by The Korea Herald and The Korea Economic Daily. The "fake news" further fuelled concerns about the safety of foreigners in Thailand.
Pol Maj Gen Cherngron said immigration chief Pol Lt Gen Phanumas Boonyaluck ordered the Immigration Investigation Division to verify the identities and travel records of the 11 men mentioned in the reports. The findings revealed they fall into three categories:
