Cherdchai Tour founder passes away at age of 88

Suchinda “Jeh Kiew” Cherdchai, founder of the well-known inter-provincial bus company Cherdchai Tour, has died at the age of 88, her family announced yesterday.

Born on March 20, 1937 in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima, she was the sixth child of an ordinary family. She was forced to leave school after Prathom Suksa 4 (4th Grade) to start working and help support her family.

Suchinda started out doing small jobs, including selling goods at train stations. Later, she learned to sew and became a tailor, a job which provided her with both income and valuable management experience.
