Cambodia forces stir tensions

Retiring commander of the Second Army Region, Lt Gen Boonsin Padklang, yesterday said that Cambodian forces have moved near the border with neither side having yet withdrawn its troops.
Lt Gen Boonsin said that Cambodia's deployment, including BM-21 rocket launchers, could be indicative of "things to come".
The commander said that such troop movements can be seen as an attempt to "rile us", especially during a time of transition with his retirement just days away.
However, Lt Gen Boonsin said that the incoming Second Army Region commander, Maj Gen Weerayut Raksilp, has worked in the area for a long time and is familiar with procedures.
