Call to boost biogas adoption

TEBP points to fuel’s green credentials
Wastewater is used to produce biogas at a production facility operated by Thai Eastern Bio Power.
The government should strongly promote biogas as a key fuel for power generation to replace fossil fuels in factories as part of its campaign to combat global warming, according to a gas industry executive.
The comment follows the success of a public-private biogas development scheme that helps Thailand better deal with agricultural waste and wastewater, as well as adding economic value for the country.
“Biogas plays a significant role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with the country’s sustainability goal,’ said Kongkit Kokanutaporn, chief executive of Thai Eastern Bio Power (TEBP).
