Cabinet backs MotoGP hosting extension

The cabinet has approved a proposal for Thailand to continue hosting the MotoGP World Championship for another five years, from 2027 to 2031, with a budget allocation of 3.99 billion baht.

Deputy government spokesperson Aiyarin Phanrit announced that the funding will cover operational costs associated with hosting the prestigious global motorcycle racing event, considered the world’s fastest and most popular road racing competition.
She said MotoGP attracts a global audience of over 800 million viewers, with millions following the races both onsite and through live broadcasts.
