'Big Joke' vows to fight RTP defamation charges

Former deputy police chief Pol Gen Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn declared his innocence at the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) yesterday following the Royal Thai Police’s (RTP) defamation lawsuit against him.
National police chief Pol Gen Kittharath Punpetch ordered Pol Lt Gen Trairong Piwphan, the deputy inspector-general of the police, to submit a petition against Pol Gen Surachate on Nov 21, after Pol Gen Surachate publicly claimed the RTP is “the nation’s biggest crime syndicate”.
