We need to end the culture of low pay and long hours

We are years into a cost of living crisis and for many people wages are not rising in line with inflation.

This has led to lots of families in Ayrshire struggling just to get by.

Everyone from nurses to teachers contact my office describing intolerable pressures that simply would not have been imaginable in the past.

The only way we can break this cycle is by ending the culture of low pay and long hours and that starts close to home.

Recently I have been out with Stagecoach bus drivers at Kilmarnock bus station demanding fair pay.
