|October 29, 2025
CONTRACTORS are making the final improvements to Ashbourne’s Market Place, which is being pedestrianised and upgraded as part of a regeneration programme.

How the Market Place will look when the scheme is finished and (below) a photo of the area as it was
The Market Place is being upgraded to create a "vibrant and welcoming space for events and an inviting environment for residents and visitors" as part of the Government-funded Ashbourne Reborn programme.
Ashbourne Reborn is a Highways and Public Realm project, led by Derbyshire County Council, aiming to transform the historic town centre with wider pavements, clearer pedestrian crossings and improved public spaces.
