Stagecoach to build connections with enhanced bus services

IMPROVEMENTS to local bus services are set to go live from Sunday as bus operator Stagecoach says it aims to better meet the needs of growing communities and improve public transport access across the region.

The latest service enhancements have been developed in partnership with Hampshire and Surrey county councils, and funded through the Bus Service Improvement Plans (BSIPs), which directs funding provided by the Department for Transport towards measures that will help to grow bus passenger use on commercially-run routes.

Stagecoach has identified certain services with strong potential for passenger growth. To meet rising demand, Service 18, linking Whitehill and Bordon with Farnham and Aldershot, will see its frequency doubled. From this month, buses will run every 30 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays, and hourly on Sundays - providing more convenient connections and smoother links to rail services.

As part of broader network improvements, Stagecoach said it is also revising its local routes within Bordon, ensuring better integration between new housing developments and the town centre. A new route map will be published to clearly outline these changes.
