Boxer determined to achieve Commonwealth place after 3 Nations crown

Airdrie boxer Will Porter says it would be a dream come true to represent Scotland at the 2026 Commonwealth Games - and reckons he has a shot at it.

Porter, 22, won the British amateur flyweight title at the 3 Nations Championships in Cardiff last month, and has been noticed already by Boxing Scotland, holding meetings with them about getting on the team.

The former South Lanarkshire College student has finished a four-year joinery apprenticeship and an HNC in Construction Management, so he has a trade behind him, but would give it all up in a heartbeat if sponsorship allowed him to pursue his dream of boxing full-time.

Will said: "Getting onto the Scotland team and to the Commonwealth Games would be unbelievable, a dream come true, really, if that happened.
