Airdrie captain Adam Frizzell admits his side didn’t hit their peak in the Championship play-off final - but staying up is all that matters.

Frizzell and co dug out a tense 0-0 draw with Cove Rangers at New Broomfield on Saturday, in scorching temperatures, and got over the line courtesy of their 3-1 win at the Balmoral Stadium on Wednesday.

There weren’t many chances in the game, with Lewis McGrattan forcing a top save from Nick Suman, while Cade Melrose blocked well from Adam Emslie at the other end in the first half.

While Cove threw balls into the box, they never really came close to scoring, as Airdrie limped over the line.
