Two months of work for pipeline upgrade

Gas network company SGN is investing £265,000 to upgrade its pipeline infrastructure in the Paddock Street area of Coatbridge.

This will ensure local homes and businesses continue to receive “a safe and reliable gas supply”.

The project involves replacing old metal mains reaching the end of their useful lives with new plastic pipe.

This will help ensure Coatbridge homes and businesses continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply long into the future.

Following close consultation with North Lanarkshire Council, SGN's project started on Monday and will take approximately two months to complete.

To minimise disruption and complete the work as quickly as possible, the organisation is carrying it out in phases.

All of the traffic lights used in the project will be manually controlled during peak hours.
