Gujarat derecognises yoga & naturopath clinic

Through an amendment to Gujarat Clinical Establishment Act, state become 1st state in India to remove the centres from its regulatory ambit; experts condemn exclusion, cite public health risk

The Gujarat government has removed Yoga and Naturopathy (Y&N) clinics from the list of centres considered as clinical establishments. The state, through an amendment to the Gujarat Clinical Establishment Act 2021, removed Yoga and Naturopathy from its regulatory ambit.

Until the amendment, naturopathy and yoga clinics run by qualified BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences) doctors were recognised under the act, similar to dental, homoeopathy and ayurveda clinics.
