Bank GNPAs in March Decline to Multi-Decadal Low of 2.3%

Loan write-offs among prime reasons for reduction in GNPAs over the last five years, says RBI Financial Stability Report; GNPA may rise to 2.6% by March 2027

The gross non-performing assets (NPAs) of the banking system declined to a multi-decadal low of 2.3% in March 2025, the Reserve Bank of India said on Monday.

The level of the GNPAs had stood at 2.6% in September 2024.
