Peter Forkasiewicz on the highest point on the Pennine Way, Cross Fell
Peter Forkasiewicz made a promise to his late wife Julie-Anne's relatives he would take on Pennine Way as a tribute to his wife of 29 years when she passed away while they were on holiday in Cumbria in 2022.
He mustered up the strength to fulfil this vow, finishing the 268-mile journey last week.
He said: "I miss her every day. She was such a kind person and a real character and she'd do anything for anyone.
"I didn't want her to be forgotten.
"It's overwhelming she has gone and I'm struggling but I needed to do this.
"It was an experience of getting to know yourself.
