SAM VILL BE AN OWLS STAR!

PROUD Brighouse Town manager Vill Powell has tipped young starlet Sam Reed to have a bright future in the pro ranks after landing a dream move to Sheffield Wednesday.

The 20-year-old left-back honed his skills with the NPL East outfit over the last three years and caught the attention of the Owls, who were impressed when he went on trial last season.

He has now signed his maiden professional contract with the Championship club and will start off in their Under-21 squad.

Powell is delighted for the youngster, who is the son of his assistant manager Stacy Reed.

“Sam came to us through his dad, but his success has been down to him and the hard work he’s put in,” said Powell, who began his own playing career with Wednesday. “He came to us never having played men’s football before, he listened and showed the right attitude.
