NORWOOD'S VITAL LATICS GOAL SPARKS PITCH CHAOS

A JAMES NORWOOD 96th-minute equaliser brought an end to Chesterfield’s 100% record as Oldham Athletic came away from the SMH Group Stadium with a point.

Ash Palmer’s header near the hour mark looked to have secured the three points before Norwood poked the ball into the back of the net with time almost up.

On the result, Chesterfield assistant manager Danny Webb said: “We are all very disappointed not to win. Twelve points would have been great but ten is not bad.

“The last kick of the game is a bit of a sickener. We’ll certainly have a mope and a sulk tonight, but Monday we have to bounce back.”

The early stages consisted of the home side holding possession with Oldham sitting back and allowing the waves of pressure.

Norwood almost abruptly brought a stop to those proceedings in the 14th minute. The striker made a run at the near post and headed Mark Kitching’s cross wide.
