KING'S HOLIDAY NIGHTMARE

Having teed up recruitment plans prior to jetting off, the last thing Coalville Town's manager expected from a call from chairman Glyn Rennocks was to be told that the men's team was being disbanded.

Sure enough, Rennocks went public with the bombshell that rocked the NonLeague world within the hour, confirming he had withdrawn the Ravens from the Southern League Premier Division Central with no plans at that stage to continue with senior men's football.

But the surprises didn't end there for King - 30 to 40 calls followed, including one with the chairman of a club from the same division.

King told The NLP: "It was just this bizarre, dream-like event. I had to pinch myself when I put the phone down to believe it was actually happening.
