HIGHWORTH GO TO TOWN ON DALERS

The Hellenic Premier visitors had the game’s opening chance on 12 minutes when Michael Miller’s crosses found the head of Leon Morrison whose effort sailed just wide.

Five minutes later the visitors went close again as Connor Mattimore provided an inviting cross for Rob Dean, but he just failed to connect with the ball.

Highworth took the lead on 49 minutes when Rhys Wells’ long ball forward was flicked on by Sol Pryce into the path of Whelan who beat the last defender before netting in off the post.

Whelan doubled his side’s goal tally two minutes later to put his side into the driving seat.

Sam Bayford’s goal in reply could have set up a grandstand finish before Leon Morrison fired home a third Highworth goal from range.

Hallam made club history by reaching the last 16 for first time following a 3-1 victory against Silsden, to send a vocal home crowd home happy.
