THEIR historic FA Cup journey may well be over but Cray Valley PM boss Steve McKimm believes it was an adventure that could well define the club's future.

BEGINNING OF A LEGACY AND THE VALLEY OF OPPORTUNITY

The Millers bowed out after a compelling first-round replay on Wednesday night, in front of the TV cameras and a sold-out Badgers Sports Ground, going down 6-1 to League One side Charlton in the “Greenwich Derby”.

However, the run will forever live in the memories of the Cray Valley faithful and McKimm sees a bright future ahead for the Step 4 side.

“It was what people connected to the club had been dreaming about for decades,” McKimm told The NLP.

“I don’t know the precise figures, but I believe we will have earned between £75,000 and £100,000 through television revenue and ticket sales, these are potentially game-changing sums for a team at this level.

“There are a few changes that need to be made to the ground if we are to play in a higher league and hopefully they can be done now.

“The experience was magical for all involved but the logistical benefits it will bring to the future workings of the club are vital.
