Travellers as Changemakers in Sustainable Tourism

- By Shoba Rudra

Aware, Believe, Choose

On World Tourism Day (September 27), Shoba Rudra highlights the urgent need for conscious living as the foundation of sustainable travel. Daily waste, plastic pollution, water scarcity, and disregard for local communities reflect a lack of awareness and empathy, even among the upwardly mobile travellers seeking “sustainable” experiences. By the time it is 10 am, the roads are already filling up with litter and garbage, and by the time the city sleeps, every kind of litter, from paper, plastic, leaves, and cloth, is back on the streets. And the warriors begin again...
