AMERICA'S GREATEST MIDSIZE WORKPLACES 2025

For midsize organizations, balancing the agility of a smaller business with the resources of a larger company presents unique challenges. These companies must foster innovation, offer competitive benefits and cultivate strong leadership to ensure employee satisfaction and long-term success.

According to the National Center for Middle Market, there are around 200,000 middle market businesses in the U.S., representing one-third of the private sector GDP and employing approximately 48 million people. Midsize companies play a crucial role in the U.S. economy, offering career opportunities across various industries. But what sets the best apart?

To highlight companies that excel in employee experience and workplace performance, Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group are proud to present America’s Greatest Midsize Workplaces 2025. This ranking involved a comprehensive analysis of over 3.5 million online employee reviews and publicly available data for 9,000 companies, as well as a survey to understand the importance of key workplace-related categories.

We collaborated with third-party data-provider Aniline, leveraging their extensive database of over 120 key performance indicators including leadership, integrity, compensation, career development, culture and belonging and work-life balance to offer a comprehensive view of workplace performance. Companies recognized in this year’s ranking include 3Cloud, Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, Edmunds, ScienceSoft and Ulteig Engineers.

Whether you're a job seeker searching for a fulfilling work environment or a business leader looking to benchmark your company’s performance, we hope this ranking offers insight into the midsized companies setting the standard for workplace excellence.
