America's BEST Addiction Treatment Centers 2023
Newsweek US
|October 13, 2023
TOO MANY FAMILIES FACE THE pain of substance abuse and addiction. Alcoholism and drug dependency can devastate lives, leaving lasting damage. In the last 20 years, the diagnosis of alcohol and drug use disorders in the U.S. has increased from 4.9 percent to 6 percent; consequently, overdose deaths are also rising.

The good news is that those patients who complete a rehabilitation program are more successful in managing their illnesses. In 2020, addiction treatment centers admitted over 1.5 million people aged 12 or older.
Of course, finding the right program and facility can be challenging-especially when thousands of centers are available. To help our readers make informed choices, Newsweek and data firm Statista are partnering for a fourth year to rank America's Best Addiction Treatment Centers. This year we recognize 360 leading addiction treatment facilities in the U.S. This ranking is based on a national online survey of over 4,000 medical professionals in the addiction treatment industry and accreditation data provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
We hope if you or someone in your life is struggling with addiction that this information is helpful in guiding you to recovery.
