The World in 2025 Ten Issues That Will Shape the International Agenda

The world in 2025 is hovered to experience considerable shifts across different sectors and is poised to bring about noteworthy transformations across the world as societies grapple with numerous challenges and possibilities.

From technological advancement to geopolitics, the world will see a new age marked by promise and apprehension. Some of the important key trends that will shape the world in 2025 are as follows:

Emerging Geopolitical Shifts

Increasing uncertainties between major powers such as the U.S., China, and Russia will redefine international relations and create challenges for global governance and collaboration. The factors include regional conflicts, climate change, resurgence of great power competition and technological advancements. The rivalry between the U.S. and China will probably heighten, as both countries compete for supremacy in different domains such as trade, military, technology and leverage in global affairs. Additionally, regional focal points in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Korean Peninsula are projected to remain in a turbulent state, with ongoing conflicts fueled by religious/ethnic complicatedness, historical resentments and power struggles.

These regional uncertainties have the possibility to escalate into larger-scale confrontations, drawing in global actors and raising the threat of destabilization. Moreover, the drastic progress of technologies, such as cyber warfare, artificial intelligence (AI) and space capabilities, presents new volume to geopolitical contestation.

The geopolitical landscape on the whole will be shaped by an intricate interplay of conventional power battles, emerging technologies, and environmental challenges. There is a need for strategic foresight, diplomacy and collaboration within countries to take the edge off the risks of conflict and foster consensus and resilience on an international scale.
