Crazy Tube Circuits Venus
Used by David Gilmour and Billy Gibbons to name just two, the BK Butler/Chandler Tube Driver was never particularly pedalboard-friendly with its large footprint and AC power. But the Crazy Tube Circuits’ Venus puts Tube Driver voicings and features into a more compact pedal with improved practicality, not least its standard nine-volt operation. Use the included ECC832 valve or put in one of your own choice, find its sweet spot with the Bias knob and explore the pedal's range, from just beyond clean to really creamy full-on drive, dripping with sustain and cleaning up nicely with guitar volume. An inspired, accessible take on a classic, relevant for the modern pedalboard.
