THE TATLER BALL RETURNS

This year's beneficiary is World Vision, and the cause couldn't be more vital. For PhP 50,000—one provides a malnourished child with complete nutritional support and intervention, while giving their parents (or guradians) livelihood training. It's not charity in the old-fashioned, handout sense. It's a transformation. Through World Vision's Nutrition Rehabilitation and Livelihood Integration programme, parents learn home gardening, small livestock rearing and microenterprise skills. The approach is refreshingly pragmatic: recognise that a child’s wellbeing begins with a family's stability, then empower families to sustain themselves. Aid becomes empowerment. Recovery becomes thriving.
