Metiz is back. After undergoing extensive renovations over the past few months, the restaurant has reopened its doors, inviting patrons to experience an updated ambience and better-than-ever offerings
Chef Stephan Duhesme reopens Metiz at Karrivin Plaza, unveiling a dramatically lit chef’s table and a menu that continues to reinterpret Filipino cuisine—pushing boundaries while honouring tradition.
It has always been about Filipino food for executive chef and owner Duhesme. At Metiz, he pays culinary homage to his Filipino roots. Since it opened in 2019, the goal has been to bring his vast experience from cooking in some of the most creative kitchens in Europe and Central America and to apply this to local ingredients, conjuring complex flavours and compelling textures. Since then, Metiz has become top of mind for food lovers who seek thoughtful, well-executed dishes that stir up nostalgia among locals and introduce the unique characteristics of our cuisine in relatable ways to the uninitiated.
After renovations, Metiz returns with a refurbished kitchen and redesigned 25-seater dining room. The chef's table wraps around the open kitchen, offering front-row seats to the action. Banquette seats allow for intimacy, while a semiprivate room accommodates groups. Thoughtfully designed lighting softens the industrial surfaces of matt steel and cement, casting a glow on the food.
