Tiffany & Co Creative Director Christopher Young shares with us the rich heritage of the Maison, its ties to Southeast Asia and the power of dreams

The unveiling of Tiffany & Co's Legendary Legacy exhibition in Bangkok was a poignant moment, celebrating the genius of Jean Schlumberger, a monumental figure in Tiffany's history and the Maison's first exhibition in Southeast Asia. It was Tiffany's testament not only to Bangkok's relevance in the world of retail, jewellery and fashion, but also to the emotional ties that bind it to the past. This event was not just about showcasing rare jewels; it was a heartfelt tribute to the rich tapestry of Tiffany's history, the thrill of travel and the limitless power of imagination, evoking a sense of nostalgia for the audience.

I sit with Christopher Young, Tiffany's creative director for visual merchandising and archives, and ask him about his life. Young exudes an unmistakable enthusiasm for Jean Schlumberger, Tiffany’s late, iconic designer, who had a profound passion for Southeast Asia. “He adored the region—Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong. Jean was an adventurous spirit, often sailing across Asia. His elephant brooch, for instance, beautifully embodies his connection to Thailand,” says Young.
