The Art of Wine Stewardship
Tatler Hong Kong
|October 2025
Australia's most celebrated winemaker Penfolds successfully brought its world-renowned aftercare service back to Hong Kong after eight years, offering collectors the ultimate expression of luxury wine stewardship
-
In the world of luxury goods, true craftsmanship extends far beyond the moment of purchase. Just as Patek Philippe maintains restoration workshops for vintage timepieces and marques like Ferrari certify classic automobiles decades after they leave the factory, Penfolds continues to champion an increasingly rare philosophy: that exceptional wines deserve lifelong care.
This August, the Australian winemaker's renowned Re-corking Clinic returned to Hong Kong for the third time, eight years after its last appearance in the territory. Taking place at The Upper House on August 22 and 23, the invitation-only service represented the gold standard in luxury wine stewardship. Hosted by chief winemaker Peter Gago and winemaker Shavaughn Wells, this year's edition also included a limited number of public viewing sessions, offering rare insight into the meticulous process that preserves Penfolds' most treasured vintages.
