Bit of a stretch - WAIT IT OUT

"If there's one thing I'm keen to develop, it's resilience in the face of uncomfortable feelings. My knee-jerk response to emotional disturbance is to placate it with comforting things: a square of chocolate every 60 seconds, trash TV, an aborted go at that meditation app thrown in for #balance. However, it's only through learning to wait rather than react that the stamina builds. Then, healthier and cheaper self-soothing alternatives such as breathing and body scans come into play and, with consistency, actually make a real difference.

Don't fear the D-WORD

While most of us associate this month with fresh starts — new routines, dry spells, gym sign-ups — those who work in the relationship world call it something far more sobering: divorce month. And for good reason.

HARMONY at home

MOVING FROM GUILT TO GRACE

How many times a day do you hear yourself saying sorry? ‘Sorry, could I just…?’ ‘Sorry, I can’t make it tonight.’ ‘Sorry, I’m not free.’ We apologise for taking up space, for saying no, for changing our minds, even for wanting something different. Sometimes it just slips out before you’ve even had time to check if it belongs there.
